Motivation behind this...
The inspiration, motivation and resource for Arpita Social Welfare Society came from a person devoted to social service,
a post graduate in chemical engineering from IIT Guwahati Sri Balaji Kamala, who is the founder and the pioneer of this
social concept ARPITA.Before coming out with this concept of Arpita, an NGO organisation setup vide Regd. No
(RS / KAM / 240 / A-19 / 371 of 2009 and under the act of 1860), he was actively involved in various social activities
like child literarcy, blood donations, Tsunami relief camp, pulsepolio immunisation, environmental and awarness programmes.
He has a glorious past by being an active member of NCC and NSS for about 12 years. He was honoured and decorated with the
"Mahathma Gandhi Fellowship" by GS & DS for his active role as a Gandhian Fellow.
We at Arpita felt that India at present is going through a very critical phase at one end, we talk about silicon valley but
on the other end we see people lacking minimum facilities and they even lack information which could uplift them.
Even after many years of independence, poverty and illiteracy have not been eradicated and people do not have sufficient knowledge
about various govt. schemes that can be availed of. There are still scores of children in India who still just dream of school
education. The prosperity of the nation depends on the educated people who should reach out their hands to help the poor.
We should never forget the contribution of our mentors and teachers without whom we cannot assume our existence. Our motive is to
take initiatives that would create some awareness among the unprivileged people and that would in turn motivate them to enhance their
lives. Currently illiteracy, unemployment, lack of medical facilities, poor hygiene, lack of self-employment opportunities
and existence of old customs are evils of the current society that are causing hindrance to development of underprivileged people
and also these are the biggest challenges of the society.
What is our plan...
To identify existing competencies, to draw up purposeful plans for utilization of available opportunities in India,
to upgrade local skills, to impart and exchange knowledge with them, and to manage for coaching and mentoring of rural
and tribal india.
